Welcome to The Gemini Boat Race

From Cameron and Tyler Vinklevoss

Rowing is deeply ingrained in our DNA. In 2010, we competed in the Oxford Blue Boat after competing at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. We drew upon the spirit of leadership and tenacity fostered by rowing when we founded Gemini in 2014, and these values have underpinned our mission ever since. From the start, this has been a natural partnership for Gemini, and we are proud to be the first fintech company to serve as Principal Partner — following a long line of esteemed institutions.

Through our partnership with The Boat Race, we’ve helped broaden the event’s impact by increasing access to rowing facilities and education, and removing financial barriers that often prevent prospective athletes from participating in the sport of rowing. We are grateful to have helped over 900 young people learn to row. Through the Boat Race Fund, we’ve supported projects with London Youth Rowing, Fulham Reach Boat Club, Behind Every Kick and Brixton Wings in London, Ely College in Cambridgeshire, Firhill Youth Project and Community Sports Hub in Glasgow, and Warrington Youth Rowing in Cheshire. We hope these young athletes will take lessons from their rowing experience into other aspects of their life.

It’s an honor and a privilege to play a part in ensuring the longevity of such a treasured sporting event. We wish the teams rowing today the very best of luck and thank the dedicated team working behind the scenes for making today truly spectacular.
